Pakistan's Education: A Business Model

The education system in Pakistan has experienced a significant shift towards a business model, raising concerns about systemic flaws, lack of transparency, and student exploitation. Children now start school at younger ages, and the lack of oversight has compromised the integrity of the system.
There is an urgent need to reform the board systems, as students often report discrepancies in the rechecking process, leading to demotivation and seeking shortcuts. Scandals and corruption in the education system have been reported, highlighting the lack of transparency and fairness.
With upcoming board results, similar issues are expected to recur, indicating persistent flaws in the system. The role of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) is crucial in ensuring quality education and fair admissions processes, especially concerning the timing of university admissions based on preliminary results.
Student advocacy is emphasized as a vital aspect of demanding a fair and transparent education system, with individuals taking initiative, such as Shahan's online petition for a re-evaluation of the FBISE 2024 results.
