Imran Khan's Remarks at Adiyala Jail
Imran Khan |
Khan then declared to the nation that they had stolen our mandate on February 8, but we will hold a rally in Islamabad on September 8 at any cost. I urge the entire nation to come out on September 8, attend this rally, and do not tolerate any obstacles or listen to anyone this time."
He criticized the government's handling of the economy, citing a lack of investment, a sinking economy, and excessive borrowing with no means to repay. Electricity bills are skyrocketing, and I urge the people to come out for themselves."
Khan also refuted allegations that he had instructed any underground PTI members or leaders to take action, stating, "I strongly deny this news. We are not afraid of prisons, but kidnappers are torturing our members and forcing them to leave the party. I cannot risk their lives."
He further alleged, "Former Deputy Superintendent Jail Akram was also kidnapped. The police claim he ran away with a girl, but everyone knows who kidnapped him. They are likely torturing and forcing him right now."
Khan expressed deep concern over the situation in Balochistan, warning, "Baloch people are turning against the country, which is very dangerous for Pakistan. This is falling on the establishment—what are they doing to this country?"
He questioned the authorities' handling of terrorism and street crime, saying, "Whose responsibility is it to stop terrorism in Balochistan? Who will control the rising street crime in the country? Terrorism in Balochistan will end only when the elected people of Balochistan are seated."
Khan's sister revealed that prison authorities are denying him basic facilities and treating him harshly with further restrictions. She urged the public to raise their voices for him, saying, "He has done everything for us. Do not leave him alone."
Finally, Khan questioned the government's priorities, saying, "Police officials have refused to go to the raw areas now. Who is responsible for this street crime, and who will end it? Their whole focus is just to end PTI. Did we commit terrorism in Balochistan too? Is this also our responsibility? Balochistan has turned against Pakistan, and it is very dangerous. Come to your senses."
