An open letter was written by social and political activist Professor Noam Chomsky to Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial.

   

Prof.Noam Chomsky expressed concern over the violence on Shahbaz Gill in the name of chief justice Umar Atta Bandyal and called it a violation of human rights. More than 60 national and international civil society leaders, and artists, including Prof.Noam Chomsky. Journalists and academics have also expressed concern over the torture of Shahbaz Gill noting that there are reports of PTI leader Shahbaz Gill being serely tortured in police custody. 

In the court, he was facing difficulty breathing due to which he kept asking for a mask to breathe and saying that he was not getting a breath.
